PTI quoted a source as saying: “Yes, it will be discussed soon. We still have more than two years for the next World Cup (November 2027). Both Kohli and Rohit will push 40 by then, so there should be a clear plan for a big event, as our last victory was in 2011.

The source further said, “Look, both Kohli and Rohit have made a huge contribution in white-ball cricket for the team and sports in general. They have achieved almost everything. Therefore, I don’t think anyone is going to force his hand, but there will be some honest and professional conversations before the next ODI cycle, where they stand mentally and physically. It depends on that.”
