
Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) Gave a dominant performance to defeat St. Lucia Kings (SLK) 56 runs in qualifier 2 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 At the Providence Stadium. With this victory, four times champion TKR once again reached the CPL final.
Nicholas Putran and Alex Hales inspired TKR till 194
After winning the toss, St. Lucia Kings chose for Bowl, giving TKR the benefit of setting a challenging goal. The top and middle order of Knight Riders were fired together:
- Alex Hales led the charge with an unbeaten 58 in 44 balls, including 4 tooring six.
- Nicholas Gorn supported him with a Quickfire 50 off 32 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours.
- Kieron Pollard scored 35 runs in 26 balls, and Andre Russell scored 28 runs in just 12 delivery, intensifying TKR’s innings in the overs of death.
Only Colin Munro failed to make a mark, scoring 6 runs from 6 balls.
For Kings, Khari Pierre, Roston Chase and Alzari Joseph shared wickets, but the bowlers fought to include aggressive TKR lineups.

Chasing 195, the Kings started vigorously through Tim Safart, who scored a brilliant 57 off 40 balls, breaking 8 fours. Tim David scored 28 runs from 19 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to form partnerships. Defending champions were eventually Restricted for 138/8 in prescribed overs,
Knight Riders bowlers were tireless:
- Sunil Narin took 3 important wickets for just 18 runs in his 4 overs.
- Usman Tariq claimed 4 wickets, strangled the middle -order and ended the Kings’ expectations effectively.
- Kieron Pollad pasted 1 wicket for 4 runs.

Nicholas bowler’s aggressive 50 proved decisive in giving TKR lead for 50 runs off 32 balls. His ability to dominate Kings bowlers during the mid -over set the platform for a large clan.
“It is really important to come together in a tournament in this way. It has been a little challenging for us in the last two sessions. But everyone has come together this time and congratulations to all, I am proud of people,” Gorn said after receiving his player of the match award.
“Our spinners are fantastic, Usman has been fantastic all over the tournament and we are happy to find it. Woman has been very good as well and I am lucky for him,” Knight Riders Skipper said.
