KKR has announced the appointment of its former fast bowler Tim Southee as its bowling coach for the upcoming season of IPL. The former New Zealand fast bowler is no stranger to the Knight Riders.
Every team is gearing up to announce their final retained squad or finalize trade deals ahead of the mini-auction, but Kolkata Knight Riders are performing in a completely different manner. They are focusing on bringing in a new management before the retention dates.
KKR has appointed Tim Southee as bowling coach for the next season.
The Knight Riders began making changes to their team management by appointing former Team India assistant coach Abhishek Nair in place of Chandrakant Pandit. Shane Watson was also announced as Abhishek Nair’s deputy by the Knight Riders.
Now, in another announcement, they have confirmed Tim Southee as the bowling coach of KKR for the upcoming season of 2026. The Kiwi legend played over 300 games across all formats and scalped over 700 wickets before announcing his international retirement in 2025.
Southee played for KKR between 2021 and 2023 and was part of the Eoin Morgan-led squad that played the IPL 2021 final against CSK.
