India’s middle-order batsman Tilak Verma has revealed that Pakistan players tried to harass him with Sledging during the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai. However, Tilak said that he focused on his basics and allowed his performance to talk on the field instead of joining the players of Pakistan.
Tilak played one of the best knock of his career at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, 28 September. He came to the crease with India at 10/2 during his chase of 147. After India collapsed by 20/3, 22 -year -old composed and reached a half -century off 41 balls.
Tilak changed his gear after reaching fifty, including a decisive six in the final. The left -handed batsman scored 69 runs from 53 delivery. His knock directed India with two balls to win a two-wicket win, winning the Asia Cup title.

Speaking in Hyderabad, Tilak Verma said that he prefers to disclose the sledging of Pakistan players. He emphasized that the team’s priority remained on winning the match instead of being distracted by on-field provocation.
Tilak told reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, “He (Pakistan) became strict on me.” “I have always said that I want to win the match. So, I followed all the original things, did not say anything during the match.”
“During the match, I was just focusing on my basics, I was not ready to answer them. Whatever I want to tell them that I told them after the match and not when the game was going on.”
He said, “There were many things happening in the middle, but I cannot reveal them all. Those things are in India vs Pakistan matches and they are part of the game. But our focus was on winning the match.”

Tilak Verma revealed that the basics and his meditation on determination inspired him to perform for India. The 22 -year -old said that he kept his country first, making sure that he did not disappoint himself or the country’s fans of 140 crores.
Tilak said, “Initially there were some pressure and veins. But I have put my country ahead of everything and I wanted to win the match for the country. I knew that if I suffocated at that time, I would leave myself and 140 million people of the country,” Tilak said.
He said, “I believed in the basic things that I learned from my coaches as a young cricketer and executed it. His best answer was to win the match and that’s what we did.”
Haris Rauf can be a world -class bowler – Tilak Verma
Team India needed 10 runs from the final over, and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga handed over the ball to Haris Rauf. Tilak Verma started the over with two runs, then scored six runs, requiring four runs from the previous ball. Rinku Singh then sealed the victory with his first shot of the tournament.
Verma said that Rauf is a world -class bowler, but highlighted his own batting skills, saying that it was not difficult to take pacer.
Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Verma said, “Haris Rauf can be a world -class bowler, but I am also a good batsman.”
Haris scored 17 runs in the 15th over and 13 runs in 18th. Overall, he gave 50 runs in only 3.4 overs, a poor performance that affected the outcome of the match.
