India A national cricket team will face Sri Lanka A national cricket team in the final of the ongoing List A triangular series. Both the young teams have played amazing cricket throughout the series. The final will be exciting as Vaibhav Suryavanshi will once again be up against Sri Lanka, with whom the southpaw had a spat.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a heated argument with Sri Lanka A players during the Super Over of the match, which India A lost and after which some Sri Lankan players had an altercation with him, which turned ugly after a scuffle between Vaibhav and other players. This big surprise resulted in him being fined 50% of his match fee.
Tilak Verma supported Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Ahead of the final match, India A captain Tilak Verma gave an exclusive interview to Sportstar, where he opened up about Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s leadership, pressure, guidance and the lessons he learned from Rohit Sharma. He was asked, ‘On this tour you have got the opportunity to lead and guide 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. What advice have you given him?’
Answering the question, Tilak Verma has warned Vaibhav Suryavanshi as it will be difficult for the teenage sensation to make the transition to the senior team. Tilak has advised him to play his own game and given him the freedom not to put too much pressure on himself and believes that he will continue to learn the game.

“It will definitely be challenging for him when he makes the transition to the senior men’s team. He has come from Under-19 cricket, he has had a fantastic IPL and now he is representing a senior team. But he is extremely talented. If he progresses, he can finish games on his own. The most important thing for someone like him is support. Young players need freedom.”
“I have told him to keep playing his natural game, have fun and not take pressure. At his age, it is time to learn and express himself. Whatever he has achieved so far has come from playing positively. There is no reason to change that.”
“As captain, I told him that if he needs anything I am always there. Just keep learning, keep enjoying the game and have confidence in your strengths. So, we are supporting him and hoping he does well in the finals. And, if he progresses, we all know what he is capable of. I hope he continues to progress in the finals.”
