Indian batsman Tilak Verma has dropped his latest opinion on Rinku Singh snatching the No. 6 spot in the Indian batting order. He has made it clear that he will be ready for whatever role the team wants from him and especially after the match against Zimbabwe, he is confident of going ahead in the tournament.
After the defeat against South Africa, India has made some changes in its playing eleven. India won the match and the batting order, which had collapsed badly, made a quick comeback. The biggest change includes sending Ishan Kishan to number one. 3 and Tilak Verma is being sent to no. 6. As a replacement for Rinku Singh.
This is the most likely combination that will remain in India’s upcoming games. They have two spinners, two fast bowlers and will be supported by Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey. Abhishek Sharma’s glimpse of form is worth seeing and this is the biggest positive for India ahead of the match against West Indies.
Tilak Verma finally reveals about snatching away Rinku Singh’s playing eleven spot
India dropped Rinku Singh from the lower order and brought in Sanju Samson as an opening batsman, replacing Ishan Kishan. Despite all his success at the top, Tilak played at number 3. 3 so far, but he has failed to match his scoring rate so far in this World Cup.
However, Tilak Verma was sent down to bat in the middle order. Coming to its new position at number. 6, where he actually debuted for India, Tilak scored 44 runs off just 16 balls at a strike rate of 275. Verma hit 4 sixes and 3 fours in the innings.
“I am always ready for whatever the team needs; I am up for it. I have played the same role for 4 years in the IPL with Mumbai Indians and also in some matches for India. Therefore I can easily adapt to any situation,” said Tilak.
However, Tilak Verma also looked happy to get his rhythm back. Since his return from injury, he has been looking forward to this one innings, which can definitely boost his confidence, and after his exploits in the last game, this will be a big boost for him in the rest of the competition.

Sanju Samson likely to continue for India against West Indies
Despite the setbacks, Sanju Samson was included in the T20 World Cup squad and now he has made it to the playing eleven as well. This was only his second match in the World Cup and he gave a steady start to India with 24 runs, but he fell victim to Blessing Muzarabani in the deep.
He is likely to continue at the top of the order along with aggressive opener Abhishek Sharma. Samson brings a right-hand, left-hand combination, which is important from the team’s point of view.
Against West Indies, who also have an off-spinner in Roston Chase, it would be better to open with Samson rather than pairing two left-handed batsmen within the powerplay.
Rinku Singh is facing the biggest crisis of his life amid T20 World Cup 2026.
Rinku Singh was absent from India’s training session on Tuesday, and as per the reason given by batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, he left to attend to his father, who was put on a ventilator and was suffering from ill health.
On the morning of the 27th, the next morning after India’s victory over Zimbabwe, Rinku Singh’s father, Recently, Khanchand Singh passed away after his condition deteriorated during the T20 World Cup. He was admitted to Yatharth Hospital and was undergoing treatment for liver cancer.
