The exciting final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going on at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. During the seventh over of the second innings, the Gujarat Titans (GT) fielder interacted with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Virat Kohli, who was at the non-striker’s end at that time.
It is noteworthy that the conversation between Sudarshan and Kohli was not friendly. Right from the beginning of the over, the GT player was trying to provoke the great batsman.

Sai Sudarshan was trying to provoke Virat Kohli.
Firstly, Virat, who has seen a lot of these, didn’t seem bothered by Sudarshan’s mind games. As Kohli looked calm, Sudarshan continued to do so. Virat had to go straight to the opposing fielder and some conversation took place between them.
In this match, whenever Mohammad Siraj comes to bowl, a lot of things happen. Gujarat Titans are using all their tools to defend their total of 155 runs in the final match of IPL 2026.

Sai Sudarshan’s efforts proved ineffective
However, Sai Sudarshan’s attempts to get into Virat’s mind seem to be going in vain as the great batsman has completed yet another half-century in his T20 career. Kohli faced only 25 balls to complete his half-century. According to Cricbuzz, this is Virat’s fastest half-century in the Indian Premier League. In 2018, he scored a half-century in just 26 balls against Rajasthan Royals, which was the fastest half-century recorded by him in the league history.

Record making 50 runs for Virat
This is one of the fastest 50s in an IPL final. The former Team India player and former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman still tops the record-list for his 24-ball half-century which he scored against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2010 final at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
Venkatesh Iyer, who is currently an RCB batsman, is ranked third in this list. When Iyer was with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he scored a half-century off just 24 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 final in Chennai.
With Virat on song, RCB are looking quite promising to retain their title.
