Vaibhav Suryavanshi performed brilliantly for India A by scoring a century in 32 balls against UAE in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, an innings which has taken the cricket world by storm.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi lights up Doha with his masterclass against UAE
Vaibhav’s century off 32 balls at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha was the joint second fastest T20 century by an Indian, equaling the record previously held by Rishabh Pant. His aggressive but controlled innings included 15 sixes and 11 fours, culminating in a remarkable innings of 144 runs off 42 balls. With this innings, India A scored a huge score of 297 runs for 4 wickets in the match against UAE and contributed significantly to the spectacular victory of 148 runs.
Suryavanshi’s brilliant innings demonstrated his ability to dominate the bowling attack with ease. His partnership with Naman Dheer added 163 runs for the second wicket, giving India A a strong platform. The young batsman’s fearless stroke play ensured that the bowlers were given no time to recover and he took advantage of every scoring opportunity and kept India A firmly in control throughout the innings.
The batting effort was supported by captain Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 83 off 32 balls and an impressive bowling performance, which restricted UAE to 149 for 7.
Calmness under pressure: Vaibhav’s mindset after entering the field
When asked about handling the pressure at such a young age, Vaibhav confidently said that he never felt overwhelmed by the noise of the stadium.
He said: “If there are fans, they have come to support. There is no pressure. And once you go inside the ground, you cannot hear anything outside.” [Fans come to support us. I don’t feel any pressure. And once you step onto the ground, you don’t hear anything from outside],
His fearless approach at just 14 years old highlights his immense talent and maturity beyond his years, confirming why he is seen as one of the most promising players in Indian cricket.
Suryavanshi said: “When I look back, I realize that this is all a journey of life. Where I played then and where I play now. I am very grateful [When I look back, I realise all of this is a part of life’s journey. Where I used to play then, and where I play now],
He also gave credit to his father for his cricket journey so far.
“I would like to give credit to my father. He must have been very strict since childhood. At that time I used to wonder why he was so strict, but now I understand.
