Team India’s opener Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma were involved in an oral exchange with Pakistan’s Pesar Haris Rauf during the Super Four Clash between the two teams in the Asia Cup 2025. Rinku Singh intervened to pull Gill as Rauf tried to exclude the Indian opener in the match.

Abhishek Sharma broke Shaheen Afridi for a six off Chase’s first ball. Tension increased in the fifth over, when Haris Rauf exchanged words with both Abhishek and Shubman Gill, inspiring Umpire Gazi Sohail to intervene.
Rauf shared some words with Abhishek in a hurry. Gill broke a bridge shot off the final ball and responded with a dazzle. Abhishek joined orally from the end of the non-strayer, and the exchange quickly intensified as the two sides came face to face before separation by the authorities.
While broadcasters recalled the complete change by cutting advertisements, a new viral clip later revealed that Rinku Singh pulled Gill out of collision. Rinku and Harshit Rana entered the field with drinks for the batsmen.
The footage discussed the umpire with Pakistan captain Salman Agha and Afridi, while Rauf went back to collect his hat. This incident has attracted attention on social media.

Abhishek Sharma named Player of the Match for his knock
The team led by Suryakumar Yadav started the Super Four Stage with a six -wicket win. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill added 105 runs for the first wicket. Abhishek scored 74 off 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes, while Gill scored 47 off 28 balls with eight borders.
By the time Abhishek fell in the 13th over, the competition was already sealed in India’s favor. Pakistan bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf fought to make an impact. Afridi became wicketless while scoring 40 runs. Rauf took two wickets for two late, but was too late to change the result.
Pakistan will be the next category against Sri Lanka in a Must-winning encounter on Tuesday, 23 September, while India will take Bangladesh on Wednesday, 24 September.

Speaking after the match, Abhishek Sharma said that his aggressive batting was a reaction to Pakistan’s provocation. Sharma said that he used it as a way of “giving medicine” after feeling uncertain from his perspective.
In the post -match presentation, Abhishek said, “Today it was very simple, the way he (Pakistan’s players) were coming on us without any reason, I did not like it at all and this is the only way (his aggressive batting) I could give him medicine.”
The 25-year-old is the leading run-goldter in the tournament, including an average of 43.25 with 173 runs in four innings and a fifty at a strike rate of 208.43. He has scored 708 runs in 20 T20I innings at an average of 35.40 and a strike rate of 197.21, including two centuries and three fifties.
