Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced its squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which is scheduled to begin on 30 September. The selectors have opted for the experience of experience and proven artists in the squad, with veteran all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu named the captain.

On Wednesday, September 10, Sri Lanka Cricket announced its 15 -member squad for the 2025 World Cup. Chamari Athapathu will lead the team during the tournament.

“The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Panel has selected the following 15-member squad to participate in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025,” the statement said.
Veteran players Harshita Samarvikrama, Nilaki D. Silva and Anushka Sanjeevani have been included. The batting line-up also includes Hasini Perera, Vishmi Gunaratne, Kavisha Dilhari, Emesh Dulani, Devmi Vihanga and Pimi Wathasala.
The bowling attack will be supported by Inoca Ranveera and Sugandika Kumari with generous Prabodani and Malki Madara. Achini Kulasuria is also part of the squad, while Inoshi Fernando is named as a travel reserve.

Sri Lanka’s best end in 2013 at the Women’s ODI World Cup, when she finished 5th. He also managed to finish two 6th positions in 2000 and 2005. The team finished 7th in 2017 and missed the 2022 tournament. Sri Lanka will now aim to improve its previous records.
ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 set to take place at five places
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will be held in five stadiums. There are four places in India, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, while one in Colombo in Sri Lanka. Premadasa is the Stadium.
The tournament will follow a round-robin format with 28 group matches. Australia will face New Zealand on 1 October. India will be taken to Pakistan in Colombo on 5 October. Most matches will start at 3:00 pm on October 26, leaving England vs New Zealand, which will begin at 11:00 am.
The semi -finals will take place on 29 and 30 October. The first semi -finals will be played in Guwahati or Colombo, which depends on Pakistan’s progress, and the second in Navi Mumbai. The final will be held on 2 November in Colombo if Pakistan qualifies, or if they do not do in Navi Mumbai.
