Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid political protests in Delhi. Kaneria criticized the demonstrations against the central government, saying that recent student-led and political protests across India are part of a planned political campaign.
Cockroach Janata Party and student groups protested demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. Notably, the protests led to repeated adjournments of Parliament, police action and a PIL filed in the Delhi High Court.
It seems every protest in India has the same script – Danish Kaneria on Delhi protests
Danish Kaneria shared his views on social media regarding the recent protests in India. The former Pakistani cricketer claimed that many of the opposition-led protests follow the same pattern of attacking cultural and political symbols rather than raising issues of governance.
Kaneria wrote on
I am troubled because the script of every protest in India seems to be the same.
1. Abuse Lord Ram.
2. Abuse Mother India.
3. Abusing PM Modi.
4. Abuse of PM Modi’s late mother.
5.Abusing Brahmins.
6. Abuse Hindutva.
No discussion.
No solution.
Only slogans, abuses and anarchy.

Only slogans, abuse and anarchy – Danish Kaneria criticizes opposition protests
Danish Kaneria said that the parties supporting the Cockroach Janata Party are trying to create political instability. He also alleged that some opposition leaders were trying to recreate the political unrest seen in other countries.
“No discussion. No solution. Only slogans, abuses and anarchy. The opposition is living under the illusion that one day they will be able to create a Nepal-like situation in India.”
Kaneria made his Test debut at the age of 19 in 2000 against England in Faisalabad. He represented Pakistan in 61 Tests and 18 ODIs between 2000 and 2010, taking 261 Test wickets at an average of 34.79, including 15 five-wicket hauls.
He recorded his career-best Test figures of 7/77 against Bangladesh at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in 2003. Kaneria also played a key role in Pakistan’s Test victories over England, New Zealand and India. However, he appeared in only 18 ODIs, including the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
It’s becoming a circus – Danish Kaneria
Kaneria described the protests as based on assumptions rather than verified facts. He questioned how the country would be able to move forward if people protest before confirming the truth.
“No trade deal has been signed with the US yet, but some farmers are already ready to blockade Delhi. It is becoming a circus. How can a nation progress when so many people are willing to protest first and verify facts later?”
Cockroach Janata Party took out ‘Sansad Chalo’ march on 20th July. The protests led to police lathi charge, use of tear gas and 10 FIRs were registered in Delhi. Thousands of protesters gathered near Jantar Mantar demanding education reforms.
The Delhi High Court heard three PILs alleging excessive police force during the protests. It issued a notice to the Center and Delhi Police and directed officials to preserve the CCTV footage and all other electronic records related to the incident.
