Ireland has announced its 14-Khiladi squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against England at home, in which Paul Sterling has been appointed as captain. Mark Adire and Josh will recall the series due to Little injuries, while 23-year-old Canadian wicketkeeper-Better Ben Calitz got his first call-up.
Ireland will host England for the first time for the T20I series. The series will begin in Malheed on 17 September, with the second and third matches at the same place on 19 and 21 September. The series will serve as a further preparation for the ICC men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next year.
England will captain a squad by 21 -year -old Jacob Bethel, who recently scored its first century against South Africa. Many senior players are being rested after busy English summer.

Cricket Ireland announces 14-Khiladi squad for T20I series against England
On Monday, September 8, Cricket Ireland announced its 14-Khiladi squad for the T20I series against England. Paul Sterling will continue as captain. Ross Adire, Curtis Camper, Harry Tractors, and others are included in the squad. Josh is unavailable due to Little, Mark Adair and Fion Hand injuries.
Little has played only one competitive game since July, while Edeyer has recently undergone knee surgery. Hands are also missed due to injury. Gareth Daleni, Curtis Kapoor and Craig have returned to Young Squad.
Ben Calitz is the only unaccounted player in the squad. He first played for Canada Under -19 before going to Ireland in 2022. Calitz has represented Munter Reds and Northern knights in the Inter-VII series and also participated in the UAE’s Ireland Volves Tour in April 2025.

Ireland National Mains selector Andrew White said that the T20I series against England would be an important preparation before the T20 World Cup. He stressed that facing one of the top teams in the world provides an opportunity to assess the strength of the squad and fix their game.
“While every match against England is a special occasion, this series takes up to extra importance, as we are for less than six months from the next T20 World Cup. These matches against England give us a chance to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world, as we make for that tournament,” said White.

Andrew White said that the absence of Mark Adire, Fion Hand and Josh Little gives other bowlers an opportunity to claim for World Cup selection. He also emphasized that the team focuses on strengthening the middle-order batting.
