The International Cricket Council announced candidates for the ICC Player of the Month for August 2025 on 8 September, and this time, the fast bowler dominated the chart. The shortlist consists of three fast bowlers, including Mohammad Siraj of India, nominated for honor.
Apart from Mohammad Siraj, New Zealand’s fast bowler Matt Henry and West Indies’ Pacer Jeden Seals have also been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month for August 2025 for his impressive performance during the month.

Mohammad Siraj played only one Test match in August, but his performance was excellent. The Indian Pacer impressed one and all with his remarkable performance in the fifth and final test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England at the Oval.

Mohammad Siraj took nine wickets at an average of 21.11 in the final test. India’s lead pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah rested, Siraj took over in 46 overs in both innings and bowled. He took four wickets in the first innings and helped India secure five and India 2-2 series draws.
Siraj showed steel veins and scored three wickets on the last day to play an important role in India’s memorable six runs victory at the Oval. Mohammad Sirj’s match winning efforts against England in the final Test gave him the Player of the Match award last month.
Matt Henry’s masterclass sweep New Zealand 2-0 series over Zimbabwe
The second nominated man is Matt Henry, who was a prominent player in Zimbabwe in New Zealand’s 2–0 Test series win. Henry took 16 wickets in two Tests at an average of only 9.12.
In the first Test, the fast bowler of New Zealand took six wickets in the first innings and the second essay in three more. Matt completed the first test with impressive figures of 9/90 and went to win the Player of the Match award.
He continued his amazing form in the second Test, where he helped five wickets in the first innings and two and two in the second, by defeating New Zimbabwe with an innings and scoring 359 runs in August 2025.

Jayden Seels ends Pakistan’s ODI dominance with sensational mantra
The last nominated person is West Indies Pesar Zeden Seal. He was an ex-factor in the West Indies’ historic ODI series win over Pakistan, which was his first in 34 years. To help the West Indies script in history, Seal took 10 wickets in 10 matches of 10 and took 10 wickets in the 4.10 economy.
In the first ODI, after a not-addressing start, where he took one wicket for 59 runs, Seal took three wickets in seven overs in the second match, including Babar Azam and Sam Ayub’s big wickets. Seal gave her best performance in the third ODI.
Seal claimed 6 wickets for only 18 runs-the third best figure by a West Indies bowler in EDI history-and in Marun helped men to score 200 runs to Pakistan, with a series 2–1 series.
