Sunrisers Hyderabad needed to take their winning streak forward, and had it not been for former stand-in captain Ishan Kishan, they would never have been able to carry their winning streak into the first match of the season after three early defeats in the season.
Kishan almost revamped the team astutely as he selected several young and dynamic fast bowlers in the squad as the experienced bowlers had failed to deliver results for them. This was when these batsmen changed the course of the game and the bowlers supported them brilliantly.
Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Ishan Kishan helped the Men in Orange chase a big score as they defeated Rajasthan Royals for the second time in this IPL season. They had started their winning streak against the same opponent at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Ishan Kishan’s match-winning innings helped them chase the total target of 229 runs
The left-handed maestro from the Sunrisers camp continued his excellent form in the ICC T20 World Cup to help them chase the big target. Kishan was India’s best batsman before Sanju Samson took charge in the last three matches for India.
Ishan Kishan has continued his great form in this season of IPL as he scored 80 against RCB in the opening game and then scored his next two half-centuries against the Royals, where he returned with two scores of 91 and 74.
Ishan Kishan has scored at a strike rate of over 200 and has formed a brilliant partnership with Abhishek Sharma, taking the ball to all parts of the ground. After this Kishan was chosen player of the match.
He is a tremendous captain- Ishan Kishan
“No, I think I do the same thing as a wicketkeeper. We were able to restrict them to 230, and we were able to do that. It was fun leading the team for 7 matches. He is a tremendous captain, so I was just thinking about my batting and keeping,” Kishan revealed while talking about Pat Cummins.
“You have to play your shots and not get intimidated. I thought it was pretty fast and had more bounce than I expected; luck favors the brave. We were pretty composed and you have to have a good power play.”
He said, “I was chatting with Abhishek about what’s happening and what the run-rate is. Calmness means seeing the ball and being predetermined; it’s a big ground, and there will be big gaps. When the ball is not there, you can push the ball around and keep the run-rate going. No, I think my best is yet to come.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad has reached third place in the IPL points table.
After a winning start against the Royals on their home ground at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad have managed to win four consecutive matches.
Abhishek Sharma has been in very good touch since then, scoring two half-centuries and a century in the last three innings for Sunrisers. They have now reached the third position due to their better net run rate. They have won the same number of games as Rajasthan Royals, while also playing the same number of games.
