New Delhi. India has delivered the winning punch in the T20 World Cup 2024. In its second match of Super 8, Team India defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs. In this match played at Sir Vivian Richard Stadium in Antigua, India defeated Bangladesh in every department. With this victory, the Indian team has taken a strong step towards the semi-finals. With 4 points, India has overtaken Australia and reached number one in the points table of Group A of the Super 8 stage. The Indian team is still invincible in this World Cup. India has won all its five matches played in the current World Cup. Team India will face Australia in its third and last match of Super 8 on June 24.
Bangladesh team, which came to chase the target, could score only 146 runs for 8 wickets. Bangladesh got its first blow at the score of 35. Hardik Pandya gave the first blow to Bangladesh by getting Liton Das caught by Suryakumar Yadav. Liton was out after scoring 13 runs in 10 balls. Tanjeed Hasan was given out LBW by Kuldeep Yadav. Tanjeed scored 31 runs on 29 balls. Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 11 runs. Jasprit Bumrah got Nazmul Hussain Shanto caught by Arshdeep Singh near the boundary on the personal score of 40. Zakir Ali returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 run. He was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. Bangladesh lost its seventh wicket in the form of Rishad. Bumrah got Rishad caught by Rohit. Arshdeep got Mahmudullah caught by Arshdeep on the personal score of 13 runs.

Hardik hit fifty in 27 balls
Earlier, India scored 196 runs for 5 wickets due to Hardik Pandya’s explosive half-century and the excellent performance of the batsmen under his leadership. For India, Hardik Pandya scored unbeaten 50 runs in 27 balls with four fours and three sixes. Virat Kohli scored 37 runs, Rishabh Pant scored 36 runs and Shivam Dubey scored 34 runs. For Bangladesh, Tanzim Hasan Shakib took 32 wickets while Rishad Hussain took two wickets each for 43 runs.

Bangladesh started the bowling with the spin pair of Mehdi Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan (one wicket for 37 runs). Rohit hit fours on Mehdi Hasan and Shakib. He and Kohli also hit a six on Shakib. However, Rohit, while trying to play another big shot on Shakib’s ball, waved the ball in the air and got caught by Zakir Ali.

Kohli took India’s score to 53 runs for one wicket in the power play with a six off Mustafizur. Kohli welcomed Rishad with a straight six while Pant also hit a four on the leg spinner. Kohli was bowled after missing a straight ball from fast bowler Tanzeem. Facing 28 balls, he hit three sixes and one four. Suryakumar Yadav (06) hit a six on Tanzeem on the very first ball but was caught by wicketkeeper Liton Das on the next ball.
India completed 150 runs in the 17th over.
India scored 83 runs for three wickets in 10 overs. Pant completed India’s century by hitting two fours and a six on Mustafizur in the 11th over. In the next over, he hit sixes and fours on consecutive balls of Rishad but while trying to reverse sweep the next ball, he was caught by Tanzeem at short third man. Pant faced 24 balls and hit four fours and two sixes. Hardik Pandya showed his talent by hitting sixes and fours on consecutive balls of Mehdi Hasan, while Shubham Dubey also completed the team’s 150 runs in the 17th over with sixes on Shakib and Tanzeem. Dubey also hit a six on Rishad but was bowled on the next ball. He hit three sixes in his innings of 24 balls. Hardik hit sixes on Rishad and Tanzeem and completed his half-century in 27 balls with three fours on Mustafizur in the last over.
