Taskin Ahmed broke silence on allegations of attack related to woman

According to reports, Bangladesh’s fast bowler Taskin Ahmed is facing legal issues following allegations of attacking and threatening a person in Dhaka. In response, Taskin denied the allegations, dismissed them as false and attempted to tarnish his reputation.

Taskin Ahmed last played for Bangladesh in the third T20I against Pakistan. According to a report by Prothom Alo, a complaint was filed, alleging that Taskin attacked his friend, Sifatur Rahman Sourav in the Mirpur model area of Dhaka. The incident has attracted attention only two days after the match.

Following the claims, the police have investigated the allegations against Taskin Ahmed. According to the accused, Taskin called him around Sunday midnight before he was physically attacked.

In -charge officer Sajjad Noman at Mirpur Police Station said that the dispute started as an argument and increased into a dispute involving taskin and many others. Officers are currently working to collect more details around the incident.

Sajjad Naman, an officer in -charge of Mirpur police station, told New Age, “A friend of Taskin alleged that he had a dispute and then had a dispute with Taskin. There were other friends. We are trying to find out the details of the incident.”

He said, “The incident did not happen in Mirpur, but they came into a vehicle in Mirpur. The incident took place in the Assad Gate area, which is under Mohammadpur police station. We are investigating it,” he said.

Taskin denied allegations of attack after a police complaint against him

Taskin Ahmed responded to the allegations against him through a statement on his official Facebook page. He urged the public not to mislead the rumors. Pesar of Bangladesh said that the situation was unfortunate and was harmful to both her and her family’s reputation.

Taskin wrote on his official Facebook page, “There are many things about an incident, where I have beaten my childhood friend. I think you should not be misled by listening to these rumors and let others get misled. It is not dignified for my, my family and my friend.”

He said, “Whatever happened, it was discussed between me and my friend. It should not go on the stage where it was gone. I just want to say one thing: reality is different. I hope everyone will be with truth, and the truth cannot be denied,” he said.

Bangladesh Cricket Board responded to allegations against Taskin Ahmed

Speaking to New Age, Iftakhar Rahman, chairman of the BCB Media and Communication Committee, confirmed that the board was closely monitoring the matter, while the police conducts their investigation. He emphasized that no one should be convicted until proved.

“We are observing the matter. At this point, we know that the police is investigating it, and no one is guilty until it is proved,” Iftakhar Rahman told New Age on Monday.

He said, “He personally called me and said that these were false allegations. We are waiting for police reports. Cricket operations will take action in that case. But by then, we cannot do anything,” he said.
