Reacting to the controversy, former Pakistani cricketer Tanveer Ahmed slammed the works of Indian players, calling it a serious blow to the spirit of cricket. He further said that such conduct reduces the reputation of the game and sends a negative message to fans worldwide.

In particular, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has staged a formal protest with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), which “unprotected” and clearly violates the spirit of cricket.
