T20 World Cup, AFG vs AUS: This is not an upset, Australia has been defeated, statement of Indian legend

New Delhi. Australia’s defeat to Afghanistan in the ICC T20 World Cup is being discussed everywhere. This is being considered the biggest upset in the history of the tournament. At the same time, Indian veterans are not considering this as any reversal, rather they say that the Australian team has been defeated by planning. Mohammad Kaif credited Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan for making a brilliant plan and winning against the Kangaroo team.

The Afghanistan team was under pressure after losing the first Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup against India. Rashid Khan’s team registered a historic victory against a powerful team like Australia, which was invincible in the tournament till now. After losing the toss, the Afghan team scored 148 runs for 6 wickets on the basis of fifties of openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. After this, the Australian team collapsed for 127 runs in front of the lethal bowling of Naveen Ul Haq, Gulbadin Naik and captain Rashid Khan.

Kaif said, this is not a reversal

Indian legend Mohammad Kaif has described Afghanistan’s victory as the result of their hard work and better planning. He said on Star Sports, “This is not a reversal. The Australian team did not lose but they were defeated by planning. “Rashid Khan made a special plan to bowl to Naveen Ul Haq against opener Travis Head, which resulted in a wicket.”

He further said, “When everyone felt that Gulbadin Naib should not be bowled, then he was put in the attack. This was also Rashid Khan’s plan which benefited him tremendously. Naib is not a new player, he has a lot of experience and that is why he was successful in taking 4 wickets. “The credit for this victory of the team should be given to the excellent captaincy of Rashid Khan.”
