T Dilip will remain with the Indian national cricket team despite speculation over his future, reports Cricbuzz. The fielding coach, who joined the national team during Rahul Dravid’s tenure, continues to have the confidence of the team management.
T Dileep is most likely to get an extension in his BCCI contract as Gautam Gambhir and the think tank are not willing to part ways with the fielding coach at this stage as the Men in Blue are set to tour Zimbabwe next month in August. T Dileep’s current contract is about to end with the England tour.
Ryan ten Doeschate likely to leave Team India!
On the other hand, Ryan ten Doeschate has reportedly informed the BCCI that he wants to leave his role. Cricbuzz reports that the former Netherlands star has requested the board to relieve him of his duties after the completion of his current two-year contract.
The report added that his decision has nothing to do with his unhappiness with the job but rather it is his personal choice and if his request is accepted, his exit is expected to be on amicable terms.
Ten Doeschate joined India’s coaching staff two years ago following a recommendation from head coach Gautam Gambhir. The former Netherlands all-rounder’s initial contract will expire this month, but there is an extension clause if he wishes.
He reportedly wants to spend more time with his family in London. With his wife working and his three young sons needing more attention, he is looking for a coaching role that requires less travel than India’s hectic schedule. Meanwhile, top BCCI officials have ruled out sacking Gautam Gambhir, planning changes in the coaching staff.

Another reason behind his alleged decision is believed to be his role in the Indian coaching setup. Although fielding has been one of his strongest areas, that department is already handled by T. Dilip, leaving Ten Doeschate with a less clearly defined responsibility in the support staff.
Despite this, Ten Doeschate is known to have a very good relationship with Gautam Gambhir, who has publicly praised him on several occasions. Gambhir was the one who pressed for his appointment after becoming the head coach of India.
However, the report also states that a final decision has not been taken yet. Gambhir values Ten Doeschate’s contribution to the team, and there is still a possibility that the head coach may convince him to remain in the team, especially at a time when India are trying to recover from a T20I slump.
