Vaibhav Suryavanshi remained on the bench during the Ireland series. He saw Suryansh Shedge and Prince Yadav make their T20I debuts, which might be a bit disappointing for a 15-year-old, but Vaibhav has made up for it with distinct ability.
Ahead of India’s first match against England on Wednesday, the budding batsman was seen sweating it out in the nets with the same intent and dedication that he has shown earlier. Suryansh Shedge, who made his T20I debut a few days ago, says Vaibhav Suryavanshi has an unrealistic mindset, which is very rare to find.
Suryansh Shedge told about the thought process of Vaibhav Suryavanshi
India’s tour of the United Kingdom got the most publicity because of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played back-to-back explosive innings and demonstrated his ability to take out world-class bowlers to the maximum.
Be it with Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals or India A, the results were the same: sixes raining from Vaibhav’s willow.
Arguably, he is currently the best big hitter in the T20 format of cricket across the world. Cricket fans around the world are excited to see the budding opening batsman bat for the senior national cricket team. If Vaibhav Suryavanshi makes his debut in Team India at the age of just 15, he will break the record of the great Sachin Tendulkar.
“Unbelievable Mindset:” Suryansh Shedge on Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Shedge said that Vaibhav has a very good mentality and he can give his support even after being out on zero. He is a batsman who is very confident in his batting and knows that his unique approach will work against the bowlers.
“His (Vaibhav Suryavanshi) mentality is incredible. He really enjoys batting and never complicates things. He is so confident in his ability that even if he gets out on a duck, he doesn’t let it affect him. He keeps himself ready to score a century in 30 balls in the next game,” Suryansh Shedge told GeoHotstar.
He said, “That kind of self-belief is rare. He doesn’t carry any baggage of the previous delivery or the previous match; he lives in the moment and plays with complete freedom. That’s what makes him so dangerous. He is the perfect example of being spontaneous and playing without any fear.”
Suryansh Shedge made his T20I debut against Ireland
Suryansh Shedge’s debut in Team India was fast. He already shares a close bond with captain Shreyas Iyer because of his Punjab Kings connection. Both of them play for Punjab Kings in IPL, so they know each other very well.
Ahead of the first T20 match against England in Durham, the budding all-rounder said that he had a lot of talks with Shreyas Iyer and also spent a lot of time together off the field. He also claimed that during the IPL season, he used to discuss the playing style of the opponents to decide his game plan.
He said, “I talk to Shreyas Iyer bhai a lot. We spend a lot of time together off the field too. We constantly talk about cricket, discuss batting, bowling, match situations and how to handle pressure. During the IPL season, we watch other games together and discuss what we would do in those situations. These conversations are always healthy and constant. It helps me learn a lot from his experience.”
