From the conference after the match of India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final, Suryakumar Yadav has rejected the bad look with the bat and rather highlight the success of the team, claiming that he has achieved what he wanted.
India defeated Pakistan thrice in the Asia Cup 2025, and under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India won their 9th title in the Asia Cup. This win will largely promote Surya’s confidence as a captain ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2025.
Suryakumar Yadav said, “I think I am not out of the form, I think I am out of the run.”
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav scored just 72 runs in 6 innings played in the Asia Cup for India. Except for 47* against Pakistan, Sky could not perform its best in the Asia Cup.
However, despite his average of 18 and 101.41, Suryakumar feels that he is not out of touch, but out of run. He has shown some remarkable confidence as a batsman.
“I think I am not out of the form, I think I am out of the run,” at the post -match press conference, his side asked to win the title after winning five wickets over Pakistan in Dubai. “I am confident what I am doing in nets and my preparation. So in matches, things are on autopylot.”
Abhishek Sharma praised Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership qualities
Indian opener Abhishek Sharma was the best discovery for India in this Asia Cup. This time, Abhishek showed why he could dominate any opposition in the world. The batsman scored 300+ runs in 7 matches and scored three 70+ scores with a blistering strike rate of over 200.
Abhishek was praising everyone for his captain as he said that Suryakumar Yadav never allowed his batting form to influence his general attitude of captaincy.
Abhishek said in the press conference, “I personally felt that when you are not scoring, it is difficult to take the team along. But Surya Bhai is also what he has scored or not,” Abhishek said in the press conference.
The Indian captain said, “We have achieved what we wanted to achieve in this tournament.”
However, despite all the criticisms as his batting, the Indian captain was happy how his side responded to various moments of pressure throughout the tournament. He also claimed that his efforts throughout the tournament led the ‘right final’.
“We wanted to achieve what we wanted to achieve in this tournament,” he said. “There are many things that you don’t find to get in bilateral tournaments. It was like a knockout tournament,” said Suryakumar.
India did not lose a single game in the Asia Cup, and since Suryakumar Yadav captured the Indian captaincy, he never lost a bilateral series against any protest.
“As soon as we entered the Super Four, I told the boys that let’s see it like a quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. So we played a semi-final type of game against Sri Lanka, and then it was an ideal final. Nerves, responsibility and pressure, and this was an ideal final,” Sky concluded.
