India captain Suryakumar Yadav wants the Narendra Modi Stadium to be completely filled with Indian fans supporting the team. Ahead of the big T20 World Cup 2026 final, Suryakumar said he does not want to see any New Zealand fans or “black jerseys” in the stands in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8.
The Men in Blue were the favorites before the tournament started. They reached the final after defeating England in the semi-finals in Mumbai. In the video shared by ICC on Instagram, Suryakumar Yadav said that he expects a lot of noise in the final match. The captain wants a large group of blue jerseys to cheer for the home team to create a wild and loud atmosphere.
Suryakumar Yadav said, “Absolutely, I mean, there are more than 110,000 people here in the stadium; I don’t know the exact number. But then it will be louder. I have been in this situation before the 2023 ODI World Cup. It was packed, it was wild and the atmosphere was amazing.”
He added, “Then, when we played the two league games here, it was like that again. And hopefully it will be very, very wild, full of blue, and no black jerseys tomorrow. But yes, I’m sure there will be a good game and a good atmosphere in this lovely stadium tomorrow.”
