He reduced his friend Circle, avoided a late night walk, and focused on quality training sessions. It was Devisha who helped him to bring much necessary discipline and purpose in his routine.
“I was very satisfied at that time. Whatever was happening was fine. I was enjoying the game, but it was slowly on me that there is a big level ahead. I was thinking what to do when Madam came in the picture. I reduced my friend circle, cut late night walks and weekends. We used to focus on quality practice sessions and I brought some discipline in my life,” Suryakumar said on the show.

A significant turn in Suryakumar’s career
Meanwhile, Devisha also revealed that while Suryakumar wanted to play for India, a firm was required to push him completely. He provided emotional support, which was lacking, not on quick success but focused on stable, permanent changes. After their marriage, he saw that he needs guidance and in spending about a year, he helps him prioritize his career, focus on and help to limit distractions to protect his time and energy.
“There was an urge from them to play for India, but it required a strong push. It was not coming from anywhere else, so I gave him that emotional support. At that time, when we got married, I saw that he saw a elbow needed. I took a year to understand that friends are great, but you need to live first and you do not need your time or energy.” Devisha said.
