The selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is led by Ajit Agarkar, has finally lost its patience and decided to sack Suryakumar Yadav from the post of T20I captain of the India national cricket team.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain, Shreyas Iyer, who is also India’s ODI vice-captain, has been named the new India T20I captain, replacing Suryakumar Yadav.
Why was Suryakumar Yadav dismissed?
According to a report in Times of India, Suryakumar Yadav has been dismissed from the captaincy due to poor performance with the bat for a long period.
Therefore, when the selection committee sits to choose the team for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, Suryakumar Yadav will not be the captain; Instead, Shreyas Iyer will return to the team and take over the leadership responsibilities.
