Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has provided an update on Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was ruled out of the final ODI due to an injured quadriceps. Reddy has recovered from the injury and is available for the T20 series against Australia.

The Indian team lost the ODI series against Australia, but took away many positive things. Their experienced batsmen were in great form and the controversial selection of Harshit Rana was vindicated as he emerged as India’s most successful bowler.

However, they also faced some unfortunate incidents, such as Nitish Kumar Reddy being ruled out of the final ODI due to injury, raising doubts over his participation in the T20Is. Also, Shreyas Iyer was almost injured during the last game, but by the grace of God, his condition is said to be stable as per the latest reports.

Suryakumar Yadav’s update on Nitish Kumar Reddy

When Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav attended the press conference in Australia, he was questioned about the fitness status of Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The reporter asked the captain if Reddy was okay and whether he was ready to be selected in the playing eleven in Canberra. The captain said that he is fit and ready to take the field.

“I think he is doing well. Yesterday, he ran a bit in the nets and batted a bit. Today, he wanted to take a break because it was an optional session. But we came to the ground because he had a team meeting and he wanted to be with the group because everyone from the T20 team has arrived,” Suryakumar Yadav said at the press conference ahead of the first T20 match.

SKY reveals that a positive atmosphere is back in the Indian team

Suryakumar Yadav was asked whether the Indian team is carrying forward the legacy and momentum of the Asia Cup campaign, which India won with complete dominance. Suryakumar Yadav led the Indian team to win the multi-nation tournament.

Suryakumar said, “I think a lot of time has passed now; it’s been more than a month, but we are united again. We had 2-3 more days after the one-day players arrived. The team is looking good, the atmosphere is feeling great and we had some fun on the field in the last two days. We are really looking forward to this tournament.”

Nitish Kumar Reddy or Shivam Dubey – who will be India’s potential all-rounder in Canberra?

The India vs Australia 5-match T20 series is scheduled to begin on October 29 in the Australian capital, Canberra. The Indian team will play only one of its T20 series in overseas conditions, while the rest of the matches will be played on home grounds.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has replaced Hardik Pandya in the team, and he will likely be a part of the playing eleven, but the bigger concern is whether he will be paired with Shivam Dube in the team, or will World Cup winner Dube be cited as the only all-rounder in the team.
