In the clip, the dynamic middle-order batter can be seen batting in the nets after his surgery for the first time. Suryakumar’s latest net session has promoted optimism, but the final call on his availability will depend on his medical clearance in the coming weeks.

The Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the T20I format, holds significant importance as it acts as a dress rehearsal for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The official squad for the tournament is expected to be declared in the third week of August, and Suryakumar is now aiming to cut.

The Indian captain may have up to seven innings in the tournament to achieve this rare achievement. He will also have the opportunity to achieve the most T20I centuries in the tournament next month. Suryakumar now needs only one more T20I century that is equivalent to a joint record of five of Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell.

He is sure to leave all Maxwell and Rohit behind in the upcoming Asia Cup. There is also a six-heat milestone in the view of Sky.
