The Asia Cup 2025 has now seen its proper share of spreading on-field drama in politics with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav under the ICC investigation. Suryakumar Yadav was given strict warnings by the ICC ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan in Dubai on 28 September.
On 25 September, Suryakumar was called for an official hearing by the ICC match referee Richie Richardson, when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a complaint on the comments after its matches during the Asia Cup 2025 Group Clash during the Asia Cup 2025 Group Clash on 14 September.

During the session, the ICC made it clear that Suryakumar Yadav should avoid making statements that can be interpreted as political in nature.
However, Suryakumar requested not to be guilty in the hearing, but if he does the same, it would be a level 1 violation, and he can be fined 15% of the match fee.

PTI quoted the source of a tournament as saying: “Surya attended the ICC hearing today. He was with the BCCI’s COO and the Cricket Operations Manager. Richardson explained to him that he should not comment any that could be seen as a political in nature.”
He added, “Approval cannot be ascertained. Since it comes under level 1, it could be either a warning or a financial penalty of 15% deduction in match fees. Surya requested not to be guilty, and that is why the hearing took place.”

Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan to face ICC hearing at controversial gestures
Meanwhile, Spotlight is also on Pakistan’s Pesar Haris Rauf and Batter Sahabzada Farhan, who are all set to face their ICC hearing following a BCCI complaint on 26 September. During Pakistan’s Super Four Match against India, Rauf and Sahibzada came under fire for stimulating gestures.
Sahibzada celebrated his fifty with a gun-in-in-air gesture against India, while Rowf joked Indian fans with “6–0” and Rafael crashed gestures, which is associated with Pakistan’s rejected claim to destroy six Indian crafts during Operation Sindoor.
Rauf created these gestures after Indian fans targeted him with Virat Kohli mantras, which mentioned the breaking of India’s batsmen in the 2022 T20 World Cup in MCG. Well, it is being said that the BCCI filed a complaint against Rauf and Sahibada with the ICC on Wednesday (24 September).
