Suryakumar Yadav justified the destructive promotion of Shivam Dubey as No.3 vs Bangladesh

The India National Cricket Team led by Suryakumar Yadav played its second match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four Stage against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

The high-voltage game was hosted between India and Zakar Ali-Nedu Bangladesh led by Suryakumar Yadav on Wednesday, 24 September by the Dubai International Stadium.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. He made four major changes in the squad as Parvez Hussain Imon, Rishad Hussain, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Tanjim Hasan Saqib and replaced Litton Das, Mahdi Hassan, Shorbul Islam and Taskin Ahmed. On the other hand, India did not make any changes.

Batting first, India posted on board on 168/6 in 19.3 overs, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s explosive half a century. Defending the clan, the Indian bowling unit dropped Bangladesh out of 127 to win a 41 -run win.

Speaking after the match, Suryakumar Yadav said that he wanted to bat first against Bangladesh to get into the drain before the final. He said:

“We were not to bat first in this tournament, I think we first batted against Oman, but we wanted to bat first in Super Four and see how it goes.”

Suryakumar Yadav upheld the all -rounder’s decision to send Shivam Dubey at number 3, despite scoring 2 runs. He said:

“Looking at his bowling lineup, he had a left-arrow spinner and a leg-spinner, I think Dube was perfect in that 7-15 over range for that occasion. But it did not work, how things go.”

Suryakumar Yadav further said that if he bowls 12-14 overs well, he will win most of the matches. He said:

“If the outfield was really fast, it would have been 180–185, but with a bowling lineup, if we bowl 12–14 good overs, we will win most occasions.”

India demolished Bangladesh in its last encounter

When these two teams met in a T20I game last time, men in Blue demonstrated incredible dominance and destroyed the bungalow tigers.

India won the toss and selected on October 12, 2024 to bat first at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad. The batsmen used the batting -friendly track on the offer and scored a humble score of 297/6.

Defending the clan, the Indian bowlers did a wonderful job and ensured that the team Bangladesh had ever thought of getting closer to the demonic score.

Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets, Mayank Yadav took two wickets, while Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy got one wicket as India banned Bangladesh to 164/7 and won 133 runs.
