The India National Cricket Team led by Suryakumar Yadav opened its campaign in the Asia Cup 2025 with a match against the United Arab Emirates National Cricket Team on Wednesday, 10 September.

To bowl first in the match, India dropped the UAE for 57 runs as Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets and Shivam Dubey got three wickets. In addition, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakraborty, and Axar Patel pasted each wicket.

Chasing the target, Abhishek Sharma scored 30 runs from Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav before finishing the run-chase in 4.3 overs.
During the post -match presentation ceremony, Suryakumar Yadav said the surface did not change in the second innings. He said:
“(Decision to bowl first) wanted to see how the wicket was playing. It was the same in the second innings.”

Suryakumar Yadav appreciated his team for clinical performance and shouted a special shout to Player of the Match Kuldeep Yadav. He said:
“Clinical performance from boys, we wanted a good attitude and energy on the field and we got it. Recently many boys were here for the Champions Trophy, the wicket looked good, but it was slow and spinners have a role.”
“Here it is very hot right now and Kuldeep did well, got good support from Hardik, Dubey and Bumrah.”
Suryakumar Yadav further praised Abhishek Sharma, who is currently the number 1 ranked batsman in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
The India captain also issued a warning to Pakistan, stating that he was excited to face the staunch rivals at Dubai International Stadium on 14 September, Sunday. He said: He said:
“(On Abhishek) He is currently a world number one batsman for a reason, he sets tone, even if we follow 200 or 50, it is incredible. Everyone is excited to play against Pakistan.”
India last faced the United Arab Emirates in a T20I in 2016
India crushed UAE by nine wickets at its first T20I meeting in Mirpur during the Asia Cup 2016.
Amjad Javed asked to bowl first, India’s attack dominated from the beginning. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Pawan Negi, and Yuvraj Singh took a wicket as the UAE fell to 81/9 in its 20 overs.
Chasing a target of just 82, India reached home with 59 balls. Rohit Sharma scored 39 runs in 28 balls with seven borders and one maximum. From there, Shikhar Dhawan (16*) and Yuvraj Singh (25*) easily followed.
