India led by Suryakumar Yadav started its campaign in style in the Asia Cup 2025 as the defending champion threw the United Arab Emirates by 9 wickets in Dubai. This was a one -sided case as the defending champion completely surpassed the domestic side.
Batting first, the UAE was excluded for a total of 57 runs within 14 overs. Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Wasim along with the openers added 26 runs for the initial wicket, the UAE left for a decent start. However, things took a turn for worse when the initial partnership broke.
The first wicket opened flood attacks, and the UAE lost wickets at regular intervals. He was at 47/2 in a phase before losing eight wickets for just 10 runs. Except for Shafu (22) and Wasim (19), no other UAE players could score more than 3.

India destroyed UAE
For India, Kuldeep Yadav was a disastrous-in-chief, who took 4 wickets for just 7 runs in 2.1 overs. All -rounder Shivam Dube along with the ball took 3 wickets for just 4 runs in 2 overs.
In response, India chased the total in only 4.3 overs. Abhishek Sharma started a flight by hitting the first two balls of chasing champions for six and one four.
He scored 30 runs before Junaid Siddiq was dismissed with 10 runs. Shubman Gill and Suryakumar ensured that India crossed the line without any more hiccups.

Victory over UAE helped India captain Suryakumar Yadav make history. The right -handed batsman broke the record of the highest win percentage by an Indian captain in the T20I’s record of his predecessor Rohit Sharma.
Suryakumar Yadav now has a winning percentage of 82.6 as a captain in the shortest format of the game. On the other hand, Rohit’s win percentage was 80.6

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav was absolutely happy after India’s victory over the United Arab Emirates. Speaking at the end of the match, the captain said:
“Clinical performance from boys, we wanted a good attitude and energy on the field, and we got it. Recently many boys were here for the Champions Trophy, the wicket looked good, but it was slow, and the spinners have a role. It’s very hot, and Kuldeep did well, got good support from Hardik, Dube and Bumrah.”
India’s next match is against Pakistan. High-profile clash is scheduled to take place on 14 September.
