Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav is considered his team as a favorite in the Asia Cup 2025, which is going to start on 9 September. Suryakumar said that the team is eager to start in the tournament despite not playing the shortest international format for a long time.

Surya smiled and said, “Who said? Main Toh Nahi Suni (what this? I did not hear anything like this),” Surya said smiling. “We have been playing this format for a long time. If your preparation is good, you enter the field with great confidence.”
“Yes, we are playing after a long time. But we landed here three to four days ago. We have some good practice sessions. So we are really eager for this tournament.”

India will face Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 14 September. This will be his first on-field meeting as tension between the two countries increased after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam earlier this year.
Suryakumar Yadav said that his side would intensify the competition. He said that aggression is a natural part of his game and expressed his curiosity to step on the field.
“There is always aggression when we take the field. Without aggression, I don’t think you can play the game. I am very excited to take the ground from tomorrow,” said Suryakumar.

Suryakumar Yadav said that India has not played T20I since February, but noted that the squad has not been prepared. He said that the players are ready to express themselves in the Asia Cup.
“As a team, we played a T20I series in January and February. The boys also played IPL. But yes, we have not played any cricket since June. So, let’s see what happens yesterday,” Suryakumar said.
Team India re -organized the UAE in early September. Squad is undergoing training at the ICC Academy for the preparation of Asia Cup 2025. His initial group against UAE will be the presence of his first white ball even after the Champions Trophy final in March.
India enters the 2025 Asia Cup as the champion. They will aim to secure their ninth title in the competition. His second win will also be a win in the T20 format of the tournament.
