Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant performance in the T20 Mumbai 2026 match at Wankhede Stadium. However, the star batsman decided to give this honor to his fast bowler Sylvester D’Souza.

Before Suryakumar’s explosive batting, it was Sylvester who put MSC Maratha Royals under pressure with a sensational spell. The fast bowler destroyed the batting lineup and performed brilliantly by taking 5 wickets for 21 runs.

His spell helped Triumph Knights MNE bowl out Royals for 152 runs. Later, they reached the target with four overs to spare. Even after getting the Player of the Match award, Suryakumar Yadav felt that Sylvester D’Souza also deserves equal credit for the win.

MSC Maratha Royals failed to perform well as Sylvester D’Souza performed brilliantly with 5/21
Talking about the match, Triumph Knights MNE produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat MSC Maratha Royals by six wickets in Match 15 of the T20 Mumbai 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday. After winning the toss, Suryakumar asked MSC Maratha Royals to bat first.

MSC Maratha Royals failed to make a strong impact with the bat and even the lineup could not form any impressive partnerships. Chinmoy Sutar was the top scorer with 32 runs before retiring, while Maxwell Swaminathan played a fighting inning of 36 runs off 29 balls.
Captain Siddhesh Lad contributed 24 runs, as MSC Maratha Royals were eventually bowled out for 152 in 19.5 overs. The standout bowler for Triumphs Knights MNE was Sylvester D’Souza, who took excellent figures of 5/21 in just 3.5 overs. Sagar Mishra also took two wickets.

Triumphs Knights MNE had a poor start while chasing the target, but Nutan Kumar Goyal and Suryakumar Yadav never allowed MSC Maratha Royals bowlers to take control of the game. Goyal and Suryakumar’s 103-run partnership helped the Knights cross the win mark in 16 overs. This was the first win of the season for Triumph Knights MNE after suffering three consecutive defeats.
