India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has once again targeted Pakistan. He has made frank comments about the so-called rivalry between India and Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav suggested that the era when Pakistan used to dominate India is now gone.
Asked about his recent comment during the Asia Cup 2025 that there is no rivalry between India and Pakistan, Suryakumar once again shrugged it off.

Although, India has the best record in both ODI and T20 in the World Cup, but Pakistani players and journalists are reminding them that Pakistan has more overall wins in ODI and T20.

But the Indian captain was not impressed by this as he very politely said that such records never came to his mind as the Men in Blue have always been the dominant side in his playing career and memory.
Suryakumar Yadav said on News 24, “I have never seen that record. Ever since I came I have never seen them win. Ever since I have been watching and playing cricket, I have never seen them win against us.”

The Indian captain confidently admitted that the Pakistan team was a strong team in the past and had played excellent cricket during its peak years. However, Suryakumar highlighted that India’s cricket standard has remained high over the years, while Pakistan’s performance graph has dropped. He said that India’s heritage is not only alive but stronger than ever.

He further said, “Yes, I agree that they were a very strong team at that time and they played well. But we had played good cricket before and India is still playing. But our legacy has not diminished like theirs. Our standard has not diminished and our legacy continues strongly.”
Suryakumar Yadav once again owned Pakistan when asked about the overall INDvsPAK record.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar believes that the fearless mentality of the Indian team has been the biggest reason behind their stellar performance in the last 15 months. During this period, India won two ICC trophies and the Asia Cup, marking one of their most successful spells in recent years.
It all started with the T20 World Cup win in June 2024, followed by the Champions Trophy victory in February this year. And just last month, Suryakumar led India to another Asia Cup title in the T20 format, proving that the team’s confidence and aggression is working.
Suryakumar feels that the players have learned to stay positive and play with freedom, especially in pressure moments. Instead of worrying about losing, they have focused on attacking and enjoying the game, and this mentality has clearly worked wonders for the Indian cricket team.
“I think in the last year and a half, when we started winning championships, we started playing the game a little differently. In knockout situations, don’t think about the fear of failure, just go out and do what we do best and do our best and not think about the result,” he said at an event.
