The world No. 1 ranked T20I batsman was suffering from a severe stomach infection. His condition became so bad that he had to be admitted to a hospital in Delhi. Due to this health problem, he missed India’s last Group A match against Namibia on 12 February.

And the clouds were in for the high-pressure Pakistan game too. But Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has now suggested that this left-handed batsman is ready to play in big matches.
At the pre-match press conference in Colombo on Saturday, February 14, when Suryakumar Yadav was told that Salman Ali Aga had said that he wants India to play Abhishek Sharma in the IND vs PAK match, then we will play him (Abhishek), “If the Pakistan captain wants… then we will play him (Abhishek).”
