Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fielder Manish Pandey did a brilliant fielding, which surprised Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Virat Kohli. Pandey took a brilliant one-handed catch to dismiss Tim David, which was followed by a moment of disbelief, after which Kohli stepped forward and hugged the experienced fielder.

The catch initially created confusion due to the speed of the ball and Pandey’s diving angle. The on-field umpires sent the decision to the third umpire for review. After watching the replay the television umpire confirmed that the catch was clean. Tim David had to go back after scoring two runs.

‘Surprised’ Virat Kohli jokes with Manish Pandey
Virat Kohli, standing at the non-striker’s end, looked stunned as Manish Pandey’s brilliant catch was replayed on the giant screen. After the third umpire confirmed the catch, Kohli went ahead and hugged Pandey for a while.

Pandey is one of only four players from the inaugural season of IPL 2008 who are still active in IPL 2026. Kolkata Knight Riders bought the experienced batsman for Rs 75 lakh in the auction, allowing him to continue playing alongside Rohit Sharma, Kohli and MS Dhoni.

Chasing 193, Virat Kohli Scored unbeaten 105 runs including 11 fours and three sixes in 60 balls at a strike rate of 175. Devdutt Padikkal supported him with 39 runs in 27 balls, while Rajat Patidar added 11 runs during the chase.
Kolkata Knight Riders first scored 192/4 after vital contributions from Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh. Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose fielding. Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Finn Allen for 18 off eight balls, before Josh Hazlewood dismissed Ajinkya Rahane for 19 off 13 balls.
Raghuvanshi added 68 runs with Green for the third wicket. He played a brilliant inning of 71 runs in 46 balls, while Rinku remained unbeaten on 49 runs in 29 balls. Cameron Green also scored 32 runs in 24 balls. Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Rasikh Salaam Took one wicket each for Bengaluru.
