Sunrisers Hyderabad have selected Dilshan Madushanka as the replacement for Brydon Carse for the remainder of the Tata IPL 2026 season, despite him giving several chances to make a comeback in the season.
After giving a crushing defeat to undefeated Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad is leaving no stone unturned to maintain its winning streak. He is struggling with his bowling form.
Sunrisers have shown glimpses of making up for their poor bowling attack, especially after stellar performances from two uncapped Indian fast bowlers and a big positive news in the form of the possible return of Pat Cummins.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has included Dilshan Madushanka in the team in place of Brayden Carse.
Sunrisers Hyderabad chose Dilshan Madushanka as an injury replacement for Brydon Carse, with the English fast bowler being chosen as a backup option to Australian captain Pat Cummins, who was already expected to miss the opening games of the IPL.
SRH chose Dilshan Madushanka as a replacement after Carles was ruled out of the current edition of the season due to injury. Left-arm medium pacer Dilshan Madushanka has represented Sri Lanka in 1 Test, 28 ODIs and 19 T20Is and has 70 wickets to his name in international cricket. He will join SRH for Rs 75 lakh, which is much less than Carse.
However, this is not the first time Madushanka will be playing in the IPL, as he has already played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians when he was picked for Rs 4.60 crore after a stellar season in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. However, he missed the season due to a major injury.
