Despite the early dismissal of Orange Cap holder Abhishek Sharma in this edition of IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batsmen once again started the game and dominated in their style. However, Travis Head has found his rhythm and is on his way to his second explosive half-century of the season.
However, after Travis Head’s massive dismissal against KKR’s top spinner Varun Chakravarthy, the momentum of their innings gradually shifted towards the bowling side. After six wickets fell in no time, spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy took five of them, also limiting the flow of runs.
Sunil Narine troubles Salil Arora, picks up his 200th scalp in IPL
Sunil Narine stunned SRH batsman Salil Arora by hitting the ball on top of his off-stump to take his 200th wicket in IPL history. KKR have made a comeback after a brilliant start from the SRH batsmen in the first 10 overs.
After starting his spell in the powerplay, Narine came to bowl the final over of the match. He was just one wicket away from the big milestone in the IPL and took a wicket on the first ball of his final over.
Salil Arora looked completely unaware of Sunil Narine’s jaffa, which took a slight swing and landed on the top of the off-stump. He took six wickets in eight overs in that middle phase with less than 60 runs on the board.

Sunil Narine provoked Ishan Kishan for a double strike in his last over.
After crossing the milestone of 200 wickets, Sunil Narine became the first player in the history of IPL to take all these wickets for the same franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders.
Other bowlers who have taken 200+ wickets in the IPL like Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have played for multiple franchises during their careers. Narine did not shy away from increasing his score and he gave a big relief to his team on the last ball of his spell.
He lured Ishan Kishan, who looked set to move down the track, and bowled a slightly shorter ball, keeping it away from the hitting label of the bat. Kishan lofted it into the day, and Anukul Roy completed a simple catch. Narine became the first foreign spinner to take 200 wickets in the IPL.
Anukul Roy completes a brilliant grab to dismiss SRH skipper Pat Cummins
KKR’s spinners performed remarkably in the middle overs against one of the toughest batting units in the IPL. Sunrisers have been dominant in those overs, with Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan being the key players.
However, Rovman Powell dismissed Klaasen with one of the most extraordinary catches in the deep and the spinners dominated the nine overs between them, with Chakravarthy taking three wickets after an expensive first over and Sunil Narine taking two wickets in his final over.
However, Anukul Roy bowled just one over.
