Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 15, was between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). During the match, KKR spinner Sunil Narine registered his name in the history books. He became the first foreign bowler to take 200 wickets in T20 matches for India.
Narine achieved this feat after taking the wicket of Mohammed Shami on the last ball of his last over. Sunil Narine completed his spell of 1/13 in his four overs. After missing the last game against Punjab Kings due to stomach pain, he came back into the team and showed all his experience in the next match.

Sunil Narine is an experienced IPL player and has performed well with ball and bat for the Knights over the years. Narine is the leading wicket-taker for KKR in the IPL with 194 wickets. Since 2012, Sunil Narine has been with the franchise and has delivered match-winning performances.
Sunil Narine is the only cricketer in the history of IPL to win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award three times. He won in 2012, 2018 and 2024 and played a key role with the bat in KKR’s 2024 title-winning campaign, scoring 488 runs in the season and also taking 17 wickets in the season.
