Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad has resigned from his commentary role after the recent Ashes 2025-26 series, where Australia won 4-1. The legendary cricketer said that he enjoyed every moment of the experience in Australia, adding that there is a lot of joy in Test match cricket.

Australia took the series by taking a 3–0 lead in just 11 days of play in the five-match competition. England made a brief comeback with a win in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, their first win in Australia since 2010–11.
However, England suffered another crushing defeat in Sydney. Fans and former players criticized the buzzword approach, poor accountability, and relaxed behavior off the field. The team’s mid-series trip to Noosa, where players were seen drinking, increased the reaction and disappointment around the tour.

Stuart Broad ended his tenure with a bold prediction, confidently stating that England will win the Ashes when the series is played on home soil in 2027.

The next men’s Ashes will be held in England in 2027. Although the exact dates are still unknown, the series will take place during the English summer.
The last Ashes held in England was played in 2023. Australia have not won an Ashes series in England since 2001, with their most memorable recent visit coming in 2005, when England regained the Ashes after a long wait.

Stuart Broad retired from all forms of cricket in July 2023, ending a long and successful career with England. He played 167 Test matches, making him one of England’s most-capped Test players in this format.
Broad became England’s second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, taking 604 wickets, including 20 five-wicket hauls. During his career, he overtook Ian Botham to become the leading wicket-taker in Ashes history.
He also made valuable contributions with the bat, scoring 3,647 runs including a century and 13 half-centuries with a highest score of 169 in Tests. Broad represented England in 121 ODIs and 56 T20Is, taking 178 and 65 wickets respectively, and was part of England’s 2010 T20 World Cup-winning team.
