In a scary turn of events, two players from St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and an officer of a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) were recently robbed at gunpoint.
According to Barbados Police Service, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday (9 September).

The time was around 2:50 pm when the group Fontbel, Stop in a popular restaurant in St. Michael, stopped on the way to go back to the team hotel.

The players and the officer were contacted by an armed person while they were going towards the team hotel. The police also confirmed that the victims were part of a large group which included West Indies cricketers.
After the contact by the armed person, the players and officials decided to run, but one of them fell and was involved in a scuffle with the attacker.
West Indies cricketers were not robbed
During the scuffle, the attacker managed to snatch a series from the person’s neck. Police have said that a gun related to the attacker was recovered at the scene.

The police have also confirmed that the West Indies cricketers were not robbed during the incident. Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department are continuing investigation at the Central Police Station. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have not yet been issued any statement on the incident.
CPL 2025 – St Kits and Nevis Patriots Struggle
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have so far struggled to perform well in CPL 2025. With just three wins out of the nine matches, they are currently fifth in the points table. His last league game of the ongoing CPL season is against Barbados Royals on 11 September.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots need to win the match at any cost to keep their thin opportunities alive in the CPL 2025 playoffs. Even if they manage to win the match against Royals, which are at the bottom of the points table, they will have to depend on other results for a place in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, St. Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders have already booked their place in the next round. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and Guyana Amazon Warriors are currently at the third and fourth places respectively.
