Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced a strong and well -balanced squad for the upcoming three -match ODI series against Bangladesh.
Charith will continue as the captain, while star Pesar Matheesha Pathirana has been removed from the squad due to ODI performance.
In the top order, the Lankan team has chosen a powerful trio of Patham Nisanka, Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis to provide a solid start in the three -match ODI series against the tigers.

The promising young batsman Nishan Madushka, who recently scored three half -centuries in just four matches, has been rewarded for his continuity with a place in the squad.

Veteran batsman Kusal Mendis has been nominated in the ODI team despite injuring his shoulder during a second test in Colombo, as the team management is hopeful about its fitness.
Sadera Sumaravikrama and Kamindu Mendis will handle the duties of the middle-order, while captain Charith Actanka is likely to continue in his favorite number 5 position.
In the all-rounder department, Jenith Leinaz has secured her place in the Lanka ODI squad, as well as with spin-bouling all-rounders Danith Vellage and Vanindu Hasranga.
Hasranga is expected to lead the Lanka spin attack, and will be supported by Mahesh Thekshana and Jeffrey Vanders, as the team wants to use the stall situation for its profit at home.

Pacer of the in-form Dilshan Madushanka will lead Lanka’s speed attack with Asitha Fernando and IPL 2025 breakout star Ishaan Malinga.

Announcing the squad, Sri Lanka Cricket posted on X: “The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee has chosen the upcoming 16-member Sri Lanka squad to play in the upcoming ODI series vs. Bangladesh. ODI series will be played before 2, 5th and 8 July. Pallekele, for the final game.”
