Sri Lankan domestic cricketer Salia Saman has received a five -year ban from all forms of cricket. The International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of several violations of the anti-corruption code of the Emirates Cricket Board during the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Abu Dhabi was one of the eight persons accused in September 2023 to violate the anti -corruption code during the T10 league. All Pune Devils were associated with franchisees. Devils finished finally with only one win in six matches, and this was their last appearance in the tournament.

Salia Saman was found guilty by an anti-ICC anti-corruption tribunal for an attempt to manipulate matches during the 2020-21 Abu Dhabi T10 League. The ICC was acting as an anti-corruption officer specified of the incident, halted these efforts.

It is read in the ICC statement, “Sri Lankan domestic cricketer Salia Saman has been banned from all cricket for five years when the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of dissolving the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Anti-Corruption Code,” read the ICC statement.
Sri Lankan Saman was banned for five years after presenting written and oral evidence, with the ban on 13 September 2023 his provisional suspension date. He has already served a two -year penalty.
The 39 -year -old cricketer has played 101 first class, 77 list A and 47 T20 matches. He has scored 3,662 runs in first -class cricket, scoring 898 runs in List A and 673 runs in T20. The Sri Lankan all -rounder has also taken more than 350 wickets in all formats.
Salia Saman alleged many anti -corruption code violations
Sri Lankan Salia was involved in efforts to manipulate the summons matches (Article 2.1.1), offered prizes to attach other players to the corrupt conduct (Article 2.1.3), and directly or indirectly encouraged others to violate the code (Article 2.1.4).
Article 2.1.1 – Abu Dhabi T10 2021 to be a party for improperly correcting matches or aspects of matches.
Article 2.1.3 – Offer a reward to another participant in exchange for that player engaged in corrupt conduct under code.
Article 2.1.7 – To provide facilities to inspire, motivate, seduce, persuade, persuade, or deliberately provide facilities to dissolve code Article 2.1.
Nasir Hussain returned to cricket after serving a two -year ban
Earlier this year, Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hussain returned to professional cricket in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League after completing a two-year ban for violating the ICC Anti Corruption Code during the 2020-21 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
In September 2023, the banned 33 -year -old, served full suspension period and met all the requirements to resume the game. Nasir was one of the eight persons associated with the Pune Devils team accused for corruption by the ICC.
The all -rounder faced three allegations, including failing to receive a $ 750 gift for an iPhone 12, not disclosing the approach to engage in corrupt conduct, and refusing to cooperate with anti -corruption officials. After the ban, Nasir made his comeback to Roopganj Tigers Cricket Club.
