A big blow for Sri Lanka is the absence of star fast bowler. Mathisha Pathirana Out of T20I squad due to upper respiratory tract infection. The fast bowler, known for his pace and wicket-taking ability, will miss the tour as he continues his recovery. Asitha Fernando has been included in the T20 team in her place.
Dilshan Madushanka ruled out with knee injury
Additionally, key fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a knee injury, with Ishan Malinga included in the squad in his place. The team also sees several other changes from the recent lineup, with players like Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Zenith Liyanage and Dushan Hemantha included in the T20I squad in place of some members of the previous squad.
The Sri Lankan teams include experienced players like Kusal Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mahesh Theekshana and emerging talent, who aim to challenge Pakistan on their home soil.
Despite the injury setback, Sri Lanka are expected to field a competitive team in both ODIs and T20Is to build on a strong performance in the tri-series against Pakistan. The squad will depart for Pakistan on November 8, 2025.
