SRH maintains Heinrich Klaasen for ₹ 23 crore

Along with Klassen, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) upheld Pat Cummins (Rs 18 crore), Abhishek Sharma (Rs 14 crore), Nitish Kumar Reddy (Rs 6 crore), and Travis Head (Rs 14 crore).
Due to his good performance in IPL 2023 and 2024, Klassen was retained for a large scale, where he scored 448 runs at a strike rate of 177.07 and scored 479 runs at a strike rate of 171.07.
With the retention, Klassen set a new benchmark and became the most expensive player ever before the IPL team before the auction. He broke Virat Kohli’s record, which was retained in 2017 by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 17 crore.
However, the Kohli record was also dissolved twice before the IPL 2025 mega auction as Virat Kohli (RCB) and Nicholas Gadan (LSG) were handed over 21-gross retention to both both, which was three crore more than the specified slab.

SRH to release Klassen with eyes on Cameron Green?
On Monday, August 18, an X user’s post went viral, claiming that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is likely to release Henrich Klassen and Mohammed Shami to free some funds.
It was claimed that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) would use the money to spend on Australia’s young all-round sensation Cameron Green as Captain Pat Cummins want him to the squad.
However, A Times of India (toi) journalist, Gaurav Gupta, was in a hurry to shut down the report and quoted the post, “True not!”, Claiming that Heinrich Klassen is likely to live with the franchise in the next season.

Recently, SRH shared a video on X.com, where heinrich Klassen was asked some funny questions by the franchise.
Asked who was the mirror magnet in the squad, Klassen responded with a laugh and named Ishan Kishan. He said, “While shooting something with him, I would say Ishan (Kishan).”
He also said that Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Kishan is very worried about his look. “Ishaan really needs to make her hair fully happy,” Klassen commented.
Asked about the best actor in the SRH squad, Klessen recalled, “We did one shoot and he was incredible.”
