Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not yet played his first international match for India, but he is already making a splash off the field. The teenage batting sensation is still using a bat without any sponsor stickers during the ongoing T20I series against Ireland, and the reason behind it has finally been revealed.

It is not like that; Companies are not interested in signing a contract with a boy from Bihar. In fact, many tire companies have shown keen interest in becoming Vaibhav’s new bat sponsor. However, both the parties have not been able to agree on the money and that is why the deal has still not been finalized.

According to a Cricblogger report, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s management is demanding a sponsorship deal worth at least ₹12 crore per year. But the companies involved in the talks are reportedly unwilling to go beyond ₹6 crore per year. Due to this huge difference, the deal has not been finalized yet. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma shared dressing room information on Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

This demand has slowed down negotiations with interested companies. Even if the final deal is signed for ₹6 crore per year, it will still be a huge jump for the teenage batting sensation. Before this, Vaibhav was reportedly earning around ₹50 lakh every year from his previous bat sponsor. So, the ₹6 crore deal will increase their sponsorship income by almost 12 times.

Earlier, some tire companies were reportedly ready to spend big to sign the young cricketer. But after taking a second look at the business side of the deal, they have become more cautious about spending such a huge amount. Because of this, Vaibhav’s management team and interested companies are now trying to find a middle path.

It is also believed that the people managing Vaibhav’s commercial deals want him to get a deal that matches the excitement and popularity he has generated at such a young age. They reportedly don’t want him to sign a contract that they feel is below his market value.

Vaibhav’s previous bat sponsor is also reportedly interested in keeping the left-handed batsman, but it is still not known if the company can match the amount that his team is asking for. Hence, Vaibhav continues to play with a plain bat without any sponsor logo.

However, reports suggest that a new sponsor is likely to be finalized before India’s tour of England. Meanwhile, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is still awaiting his India debut, and many are now eager to see if captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Gautam Gambhir will include him in the playing eleven for the second and final T20I against Ireland in Belfast on Sunday, June 28. Recently S Sreesanth recalled his heated clash with Gautam Gambhir.

India lost the first T20 match by 34 runs, which means it is necessary for India to win the second match on the Ireland tour. If the team management decides to make a change, Vaibhav may finally get a chance to wear the India jersey for the first time and create history. When he makes his debut on Sunday, he will become the youngest player to play for India.
