South Africa Squad announced for Australia Tour, Developed Brevis selected

On Thursday, July 24, South Africa National Cricket Team squad was officially declared for the upcoming white-ball tour in Australia.

South Africa National Cricket Team head coach Shukri Konrad announced, and full power ODI and T20I squads were selected for matches against the Australian National Cricket Team.

Australia and South Africa to face 6 white matches

Australia’s South Africa tour will begin on Sunday, August 10, and includes six white ball matches. The tour will begin on August 10, 12 and 16 with Proties playing a three -match T20I series in Darwin and Cairns.

Then, the action will go into 50 overs cricket as the Proteas and Australians will close the horns in the three -match ODI series. ODI series openers will be played in Cairns on August 19, while the next two ODI matches will be played in McKay on 22 August and 24.

Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma have returned to lead the protease against Australia in T20Is and Odis. Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Kagiso Rabada have also returned to both formats after remembering the recent series.

Prenelan Sabreyen, who recently made his Test debut against Zimbabwe, has received his first call-up for T20 Eye and ODI Squads, while Luan-Dere Pretorius has earned his first ODE call-up.

Young batting sensation Developed Brevis has also been added to both T20 Eye and ODI along with T20 with Lhuan-Drais Pretorians, Prenelan Sabreyen, Eden Markram, Ryan Recienton, Triston Stabs, Corbin Bosh, Nandre Burger, Lungi Cash and Kagiso Rabada. A notable name is Reza Hendrix, missing from the squad.

Speaking in an official statement issued by CSA, South Africa National Cricket Team head coach Shukri Conrad said that he is happy to get the seniors back in the mix and would use a series against Australians to create a perfect core for the T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup. He explained in detail:

“It is very good to bring back our senior players back into the mixture after their comfort after the WTC final. Their experience and the quality group add real value in the quality group as we continue to build a strong core in both formats.

“Every series from here played a role in shaping our squads for the next year’s T20 World Cup and 50 overs World Cup at home in 2027.

“It is never easy to visit Australia. We know that their conditions and intensity will test us in every department, and this is the exact same challenge that we are later.”
