South Africa face massive injury concerns as a young fast bowler and a middle-order batsman across all formats have been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series. Along with him, Nandre Berger will also not be able to play in the deciding match of the ODI series against India.
After winning the Test series in India, the Proteas looked to be confident as they approached the white-ball series. Despite a tough fight, they lost the first ODI in Ranchi, but made a strong comeback to level the series in Raipur. Now the last ODI of the series in Visakhapatnam will be decisive between the two giants of world cricket.
South Africa is facing injury problems
The latest news from the South African dressing room brings sad news for the Proteas fans as some of their cricketers are out due to injuries. Left-handed batsman Tony De Zorzi, who limped off the field in the last game, has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 series and the third match in Visakhapatnam.
Apart from the left-handed batsman, Nandre Berger will also miss the final ODI of the series, and young left-arm fast bowler Kwena Mafaka, like Tony De Zorzi, will miss the T20I series due to a hamstring injury.
