Sony Baker starts England’s hand
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have also named England against EKI for an ODI series opener.
He has included 22-year-old Hampshire fast bowler Sunny Baker in line-up, and he will make his international debut in Leeds.
Sunny Baker has shown only 11 List A Games, but he impressed the selectors with his performance in hundred 2025 for Manchester Original, where he took nine wickets including hat-trick in seven matches.
Talking about him, England captain Harry Brook said that the pacer was amazing in bowling against the top-quality batsmen.
“He is terrible in a hundred. We have seen him bowling in some of the best batsmen in the world and he keeps them on the toast, so it is really good. He bowls at a high speed, and he can swing it with exceptional death skills as well as both ways. He feels to come to the team and I think he is too much.
“A few moments have come. He bowled for Mantra Williamson and Warner and then Smith and Bairstow, all four small formats are world -class batsmen and were on them. He bowled with high speed and high skills. He was terrible to see this year and everyone was talking about them,”
