South Africa hit by injury ahead of white-ball series against Pakistan

Miller’s absence is not the only blow to South Africa’s plans. Proteas team will also be without fast bowler Gerald CoetzeeWho has been ruled out of both formats after suffering a pectoral muscle injury during the recent T20 match against Namibia.

Cricket South Africa has handed the T20I captaincy to Donovan Ferreira, a decision seen as an investment in the team’s next generation of leaders. Known for his aggressive middle-order batting and adaptability, Ferreira will look to inspire a young team against Pakistan’s experienced T20I unit.

To support the revamped lineup, Matthew Britzke and uncapped batsman Tony De Zorzi have been added to the T20I squad. His inclusion highlights CSA’s focus on nurturing new talent while maintaining balance within the team.

In the ODI setup, Matthew Britzke will take over as captain, with Ottniel Baartman replacing Coetzee to strengthen the bowling attack.
