Speaking to TOI in Kolkata, Ganguly clarified that Suryavanshi already looks ready for T20 cricket, but he still needs more experience before entering the Test arena. However, the former India captain was full of praise for the teenager’s fearless approach against elite bowling attacks at such a young age.
“Vaibhav can play T20 cricket immediately, but not Test cricket yet. He needs to score runs in first-class cricket first. Still, the way the 15-year-old is batting against world-class bowlers is incredible. He is the future of India. We never thought T20 cricket would become so big. But the game is evolving. T20 cricket is here to stay, and it will continue to produce fearless batsmen who can hit sixes consistently.” Ganguly said.
